brooklyn update....

Praise the Good Lord
Posted 19 hours ago
We got some good news the other day. It's been so crazy I haven't had a chance to tell the news. Dr. Thompson said that there is a new chemo that they want Brooklyn to try. I'm all ready for it. We also have some vitamins that we will be giving her called Red Clover that helps kids accepts chemo and for it to stay in their system longer. I will try anything right now! So we will see if the vitamin helps. Brooklyn's counts are down again yet today. Her white cell count is 33,0000. Dr. Thompson was just in to check in on Miss B and things are going good. Her eyes are better so we're still going to shoot for the family pictures next weekend. I can't wait for those. It's been so long and all her professional pictures she has no hair. I wish she was able to have hair for these, but we will take what we can get. Who needs hair anyways!! I praise God everyday for the healing of Brooklyn. Thank you to all for checking in on Brooklyn and for all the prayers. We are truly blessed. God Bless,Holly

EXTRA PRAYERS NEEDED!!!!!!

Yesterday was not the best day! Brooklyn and I were playing and she got sick and it was fresh blood. So I was really nervous and called Dr. Thompson and we brought her here right away. Come to find out that her white cell count was really high, higher then when she was first diagnosed. It was 200,000. My dad brought me yesterday which was a good thing. I felt bad for him though sitting listening to Dr. Thompson explain things to us and of course it was and is very upsetting. The higher her counts get the sicker she will get. So for now they put her on steroids to see if that would help lower her counts and hope to get her home for hospice. Not the word I ever wanted to use at the age of 27. Not much fun for Chris either because his birthday is Monday. She is doing pretty good this morning, a little fussy, but I don't blame her at all. It is so hard to understand why the devil wants my baby so bad. But I'm still reading healing scriptures to her everyday. God is still on our side and is helping us fight for Brooklyn. I'm sure most of you will know that lady taking care of Brooklyn at home, Tammy Kirsch. She will be really good with Brooklyn. Dr. Thompson was just in and said that everything is still the same as yesterday, but her white cell count is up to 206,600, but she said that is nothing like if it had jumped up to 250,000 or more. Like I have always said, we are taking one day at a time. I ask that you hold off on calling and visiting. Family is the only ones to visit right now unless you call us and ask. I just really depends on how Brooklyn is feeling and how Chris and I are feeling. I hate writing bad news, and I hope here in next few days I can write that Brooklyn is better and that we are going home. Thanks for checking in on Brooklyn and for all the prayers coming her way. They are much needed at this point. If something comes up I or someone from the family will update! "By his stripes, Brooklyn is healed!" God Bless,Holly

when you think it can't happen to you.....

Weapon Search at Shenandoah High School
Students at the high school in Shenandoah, Iowa were released from the building shortly after noon Friday. The school was locked down for several hours after someone called 911 to report a student was making threats against other students.

Police officers were searching all the rooms, bookbags, lockers and purses in the building but had not turned up any weapon. No one was injured and school officials say all students were in supervised, secure areas during the lock down.

KMA Radio reports Shenandoah Police have talked with one person who may be the suspect who made threats. Police have been unable to locate the person who made the initial phone call to 911. That call was received at 9:18 a.m.

Even though it is located in a different area, as a precaution, doors were locked at the Shenandoah elementary school to prevent anyone from coming in. Beyond that, operations at the K-through-8th grade school were normal.

Kristen Gray of KMA Radio has a son in the 9th grade at the high school. She tells Channel Six the high school has between 300 and 400 students. Gray says a number of parents gathered outside the high school, and that there was one incident where a parent became irate after not being allowed in the building.

homecoming week....

the week of october 6th was homecoming week. there was a "theme" each day at emma's school. the first day was "when i grow up" day - didn't get a picture of that.... emma said she wanted to be a teacher like miss aubrey.

tuesday, october 7th - "hat" day

wednesday, october 8th - "pajama" day

and this is the beginning of what's to come....... thursday, october 9th was "ugly shirt" day. her teachers are missouri and oklahoma fans - so i quickly made an "ugly" shirt with the "ugly" football teams on it......SO i get to school to pick up emma and in her cubby are missouri and oklahoma signs nicely taped. i untaped them and placed each one to nicely hang in the toilets. i then receive a text from miss aubrey the next morning saying "you're going down. it's on"

i received an email monday, october 13th with the subject line "emma's new shirt" and this picture attached....if you can't read the back - it basically sums up the iowa has sucked and missouri and oklahoma are ranked, etc.... they did forget to leave out i guess when they gave emma the shirt to wear she asked "where's the hawkeye?" =) that's my girl! of course they said it's on the back
